Experimenting with materials to build a portable, wood burning stove. First prototype is made from tin cans and insulated with perlite. Worked great, but the construction and finish quality wasn’t to my liking. Second prototype is 1.5 x 1.5 tube steel housed in insulating firebrick. Concept was a sucess, but the tubing selection was too small. A larger combustion chamber is required to hold embers and not inhibit airflow. While insulating the heat inside, the firebrick also allows the user to be able to handle the stove while in use. Will revisit this one again when it’s camping season.
